Arts In Stark’s mission is to use the arts to create smarter kids, new jobs, and healthier communities in Stark County, Ohio. Prior to 2004, when they decided to expand their mission and geographic area, the group had been the Cultural Center for the Arts in Canon for 36 years. Today, Arts In Stark, the County Arts Council, not only manages the 330,000 square foot Cultural Center for the Arts, but also does much more. They use the arts to work on community development projects of all kinds because they believe the arts can supercharge learning in schools, fill downtown Canton with people, and revitalize neighborhoods.
